traditional, vintage and retro
style handmade leather goods
Thanks for your interest
in ordering a handmade, Old School Leather Co. belt. Choosing your waist
size is not difficult, but is very important. We ask that you supply
us with your Actual Waist Size.
If this is your first Old
School Leather Co. belt purchase, we recommend that you select a belt
that is not personalized. Items that are not personalized may be returned
for any reason.
DO NOT use a size you find
on the back of another belt.
For men, you can go by
Pant Waist size. For example, if you wear a size 36 waist in Levi's,
then order Size 36. Of course, this method would not hold true for someone
who buys their jeans loose or too big, which seems to currently be a
common style.
You may also determine
your actual waist size using a tape measure. Wrap a tape measure comfortably
around your waist. If you wear your pants down on your hips, then measure
around your hips.
Do not pull the tape measure
too tight or allow it to hang loosely unless this is the way you prefer
for your belts to fit.
Do Not mesaure over top
your jeans or clothes. Remember, we are looking for your Actual Waist
Size measurement.
Our goal is to make you
a belt that will fasten in the center hole. Our belts are punched with
Five adjustment holes. If your belt fastens in the middle, you have
Two inches leeway in either direction.
Finally, you can double
check your figures by measuring your favorite belt. Measure the distance
from the tip of the belt buckle to the hole that you fasten the buckle
in. This distance should be about Two Inches longer
than your Actual Waist Size.
A note about our sizes.
We normally stock our handmade leather belts in even waist sizes. If
you feel you need an odd sized belt (i.e. 33 inch waist), we will be
happy to make it for you. If you purchase a belt using the PayPal shopping
cart features on our site, you will have the option to supply any special
instructions while checking out. Please Email
Us if you have any unanswered questions or would like an estimasted
turnaround time.
Another point to consider
is the buckle. Our traditional style buckles shown on our site add about
One inch to the length of the belt. Of course, this is taken into consideration
when we are making your belt. If you have a large buckle or hook style
buckle you will be using with our belts, take the sizeof the buckle
into consideration when selecting your actual waist size. It is standard
for our customers to go down one size when attaching a big buckle to
our belts.
